Our team of exceptional doctors can straighten teeth with Invisalign clear aligner trays in his Nashua, NH practice. Invisalign aligners are custom made for each patient and are removable, helping us update the smile without disrupting your daily life.
How Invisalign works
Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that can be used instead of traditional braces. The innovative system improves the alignment of the smile by gradually shifting and repositioning teeth using sets of comfortable, transparent aligner trays.
Prior to treatment, our doctors will examine your smile to determine if Invisalign is right for you and then explain the entire process. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about the treatment. Once you decide to move forward with Invisalign, impressions are taken to allow Invisalign Laboratories to design your series of customized aligners.
Once your aligners are ready, you will return to the office to receive them along with instructions. Invisalign can straighten teeth faster than traditional braces, however it requires patients to comply with treatment guidelines. It’s important to wear the aligner trays for about 22 hours each day. You are free to remove them to eat, brush, and floss, before putting them back on. Every two weeks, patients will move on to the next set of trays in the series. Because each set of trays is designed based on where teeth should be positioned at the end of the two weeks, you may notice that new trays feel a little snug. This is completely normal.
Follow-up visits are scheduled about every six weeks, so we can monitor your progress and make sure that your treatment is on track.
Following treatment, patients will be given a retainer to wear, which is very similar to the trays you wore during treatment. In most cases, this retainer only needs to be worn at night.
Benefits of Invisalign
There are many benefits to Invisalign, some are physical while others are emotional and health-related. We provide Invisalign treatment at our Nashua, NH office because we have seen how a straighter smile improves patients’ lives. Some of the most notable benefits of Invisalign are:
- The trays are clear – There’s a reason that Invisalign is called the nearly invisible straightening solution. Aligner trays are discreet and hard for others to notice.
- Treatment is customized – Your unique set of aligner trays are custom fabricated to your smile and the movement of your teeth. Trays will fit snugly so there is no need to worry about them slipping out.
- Removable aligners are convenient – You can take the trays out to eat and clean your teeth which is major convenience.
- Treatment can improve oral health – Traditional braces often hinder the ability to adequately clean your teeth, which can lead to issues with decay. Because you can still properly clean your teeth, your smile will remain healthy throughout treatment.
Candidates for Invisalign
Invisalign can treat most mild to moderate cases of misalignment for both teenagers and adults. In addition to handling spacing issues, Invisalign can also help with more complex issues such as underbites, overbites, or crossbites. During your consultation, we’ll be able to determine if you are a candidate for Invisalign.
