Dental inlays at Nashua Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry perfectly complement the office’s biological approach to dentistry. Conservative procedures like inlays and onlays are conservative alternatives to full-coverage dental crowns, which may be completed in no time with CEREC technology.
Conservative
Inlays and onlays build up the damaged portion of your tooth. Prepared and designed to your unique specifications, the highest-quality dental materials are seamlessly fitted and bonded to existing tooth structure.
Inlays are designed to fit inside the tooth on the grooved area between the cusps or points. Inlays effectively restore the tooth because they combine advanced dental materials and advanced techniques. The conservation of natural tooth structure allows optimal function and fee. Full-coverage crowns fit over the entire tooth. Natural structure must be removed to make room for the crown that fits over the tooth like a cap fits over your head.
Inlays and onlays are also an alternative to fillings. For some patients filling in a larger area of damage with filling material makes the tooth vulnerable to more damage. This is when either inlays or their fuller coverage counterpart, onlays, may be recommended. Similar to the inlay, the onlay fits inside the grooves of the tooth. Unlike inlays, onlays also cover at least one cusp or tooth tip. Some patients with greater needs for restoration may be better-served with onlays rather than inlays.
Convenience
The doctors are not only proponents of inlays and partial crowns, but they also offer the CEREC system. Manual processes are transformed into efficient digital processes, so you can have an inlay or other restoration placed in a single appointment. After a 3-dimensional model of your mouth is created, new tooth structure can be designed and fabricated onsite, while you wait. Call (855) 363-3793 to schedule your visit.
