What is Invisalign®?

The Invisalign® system uses a series of custom-crafted clear plastic trays similar to teeth whitening trays, to gradually straighten moderately crooked teeth. Since the trays are comfortable, removable, and virtually invisible, they cause little to no disruption in the patient’s everyday life; patients can still enjoy all their favorite foods and even wear the trays to social occasions with complete confidence. When the Invisalign® trays are worn as directed (worn at all times and removed only to eat, drink, brush, and floss), many patients achieve results in as little as 6 to 18 months.

The Invisalign® Process

In the initial Invisalign® visit, the dentist takes molds and pictures of the patient’s teeth and mouth. He sends these pictures and molds to the Invisalign® laboratory, where specially-trained Invisalign® technicians use them, and advanced computer software, to map out the patient’s entire treatment from start to finish. The lab ships the first set of Invisalign® trays to our office for the patient to pick up in about a week. Each successive set is shipped directly to the patient’s residence every two weeks, making Invisalign® treatment incredibly convenient. Patients simply change out the trays as they arrive and visit our office every six weeks to have their progress monitored. When Invisalign® treatment is complete, many patients choose to polish their new smiles with teeth whitening.
